Emma Enright is a textile artist and designer from Hamilton, Ontario. Her series of work investigates the materiality of textiles with a specific emphasis on weaving. Embodying traditional weaving techniques, she creates contemporary handwoven artwork for interior spaces. With the use of several looms, uses a systematic order to create visual and sculptural designs. She enjoys the process of setting up the loom, it is all a part of the experience for weaving. Her designs evoke and contextualize ideas of reminiscent of the natural world and are inspired by naturalistic forms found in nature. Weaving is a slow process that allows the artist the opportunity to be immersed in the moment.

 

Emma received a Bachelor of Design from Ontario College of Art and Design University in Toronto, Ontario. She majored in Textile Design, from the Material Art and Design program and completed the degree in 2020.
