Pandora is a sacred place in which the Indigenous peoples of The Na’vi Tribe live peacefully. They believe all life is precious and should be honoured. This includes paying respect to the plants and animals that are harvested or killed to provide sustenance. The Na’vi live a culture based on a profound spiritual connection to other life on their moon including the flora, fauna and each other. The "Na’vi" people worship the “Eywa”, a mother goddess who keeps the souls of all the Na’vi and other living creatures on Pandora within her until it is time to be born. After death, the soul returns to “Eywa”. The Na’vi believe they can commune with the souls of the departed through linking with “the tree of souls” which provides a direct link to “Eywa.” The Na’vi people offer great wisdom for a sustainable future by reminding us to honour the place that we come from with integrity, wisdom and peace. If we cherish and care for our Earth (Eywa), she will continue to provide us with the necessities of life.
